First Aid At Work - Requalification (2 days)

About This Course

All of our courses are fully accredited by FAIB, an organisation established to ensure the highest standards in first aid training, giving you the confidence in the quality and reliability of our programmes. This course is open to participants aged 16 and above.

This First Aid at Work Requalification (FAW-R) course* is ideal for anyone who needs to maintain their first aid certification. Over two days, you’ll refresh and practise essential first aid skills, gain confidence in responding safely and effectively to emergencies, and understand your responsibilities as a first aider.

*To qualify for this course, your existing First Aid at Work certificate must be either in date or no more than one month past expiry. If it is over one month expired, you must complete a new 3-day First Aid at Work course.

What You’ll Learn

  • The role and responsibilities of a First Aider, including consent, record-keeping and preventing cross-infection
  • Safe use of workplace first aid equipment
  • Assessing a scene and knowing when and how to call for emergency help
  • The Primary Survey (DR ABC): a systematic check for life-threatening issues
  • Giving CPR and using a defibrillator (AED) safely
  • The Secondary Survey: a simple head-to-toe check for other injuries
  • Using the Recovery Position
  • Recognising and responding to choking
  • Spotting and managing seizures
  • Treating wounds and minor injuries
  • Recognising and treating shock
  • Treating serious injuries, including chest injuries, suspected fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries, and head, neck or spinal injuries
  • Managing eye injuries
  • Responding to suspected poisoning
  • Recognising and responding to major medical emergencies, including epilepsy-related seizures, diabetic emergencies, heart attacks, strokes, and asthma attacks
  • Identifying and treating anaphylactic shock using an Adrenaline Auto-Injector training device

What You’ll Receive

Your certificate is endorsed by FAIB and upon successful completion of the course, your certificate will be emailed to you.

You will also receive access to your First Aid Handbook, which has been carefully designed to support your course. Your handbook provides invaluable guidance for both theory and practical elements of your training and can be used as a helpful reference even after your course ends.

Course Prices

The First Aid At Work - Requalification (FAW-R) course is available to individuals of the public and employees of organisations. This course can be delivered on-site at your workplace or at our venue.

On-Site Training

£600 for up to 8 people.

Our Venue Training

£100 per person.
